The Astronomical Almanac
Author: United States Naval Observatory. Nautical Almanac Office.
About:
The Astronomical Almanac contains a wide variety of both technical and general astronomical information. The book is a worldwide resource for fundamental astronomical data. It is a joint publication of the U.S. Nautical Almanac Office at the U.S. Naval Observatory and His Majesty's Nautical Almanac Office in the UK and contains data supplied by many scientists and institutions from around the world. In 1981 the British and American nautical almanacs were combined under the title The Astronomical Almanac. The printed version contains precise ephemerides of the Sun, Moon, planets, and satellites, data for eclipses and other astronomical phenomena for a given year and serves as a world-wide standard for such information. The online version extends the printed version by providing data best presented in machine-readable form.
