Black History and Culture: Highlights collections at the Woodson Research Center in partnership with the Center for Engaged Research and Collaborative Learning (CERCL). You may also find collections related to Black life, mainly in Houston and its surrounds.
Task Force on Slavery, Segregation, and Racial Injustice: Commissioned in 2019, the mission was to investigate Rice's past with respect to slavery, segregation, and racial injustice; to encourage frank and honest discussion about that past; and to identify suggestions for Rice's future. The Woodson Research Center houses some of the archival records that the Task Force used for their work, as well as their completed reports.
