What is a protocol?

Sometimes called methods or procedures, protocols are "recipes" that researchers use to recreate experiments in their laboratory. They provide predefined written procedural methods in the design and implementation of experiments including bias, safety, equipment, statistical methods, reporting, and troubleshooting.
