ANSI - American National Standards Insitute.

National Coordinator of voluntary standards activites in the US. ANSI does not write standards, but approves and publishes standards developed and written by various engineering, industrial and professional groups. ANSI is the US representative to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
