Open Journal Systems: OJS Documentation

Open Journal Systems (OJS) is open source software developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP). It is currently the most widely-used open source journal publishing platform, with over 10,000 journals using it worldwide. Fondren Library currently supports journals using PKP's hosted OJS services.

Features include:

• OJS is a role-based system. Journal staff are assigned roles and perform specific tasks within those roles. Users can have multiple roles.
• Flexible workflow configuration. OJS workflows can be simple or complex and can be used simply as a publishing platform or to manage submissions, review, copyediting, layout, etc.
• OJS supports the assignment of DOIs at the time of publication. Library-supported journals can leverage Fondren Library's DOI services for this.
