This guide will cover the DMC printing services that include both poster printing and regular black & while/color letter size printing. The operation part of the plotter and printer is for DMC staff reference only.
The control panel will ask if you would like to manually de-skew. Click yes. It will tell you to roll out the paper until the front edge of it is level with the roll of paper in the carriage. Once you have done so, click ok and it will run alignment again
The plotter says incorrect paper size is loaded in the selected roll
double check print settings. make sure the width of the print you have input fits along the width of the roll (i.e. 36" or less on 36" rolls, 60" or less on 60" rolls)
if there is a 60" roll loaded and you are trying to print on 36" unload the 60" roll first otherwise the plotter will default to the 60" roll regardless of your selection
if there is no issue with the print size settings, select print anyway on the plotter. Watch to make sure print appears to be coming out appropriately
The printhead has caught on the paper and caused a jam
If it is a severe jam with canvas or paper bunched up under the print head, turn off the plotter. Once off, open top cover and gently move the printhead out of the way so you can access the paper or canvas. Using scissors, cut away the offending portion of the paper or canvas. Once done, manually unload the paper or canvas by spinning the roll backwards. Use the scissors to trim up any ugly or dirty edges of the roll, trying to leave a fairly straight edge. Turn on the plotter, and once it has initialized, reload the paper. Drag down the arrow at the top of the control panel screen and use the arrows to feed the paper out and the razor icon to cut off the edge, giving you a clean start to the roll.
Prints are not being sent to the plotter and computer print queue says "Printer is unavailable or may not exist at this time"
On the plotter screen, go to Connectivity and poke the settings gear icon in the top right. Log in to the Admin account. From there, go to Network > Gigabit Ethernet > Modify Configuration > TCP/IP > IPV4 Settings > Config Method and set it to "DHCP"
If it was already set to DHCP or that does not solve the problem, open a help ticket with Fondren IT
