Fondren Library Civic Engagement 2019-2024

New:

Anna Xiong (FDLP Representative) has worked with Meagan from the Harris County Election Office to deliver 2 official VDVR certifiate training sessions at Fondren Library, one in the spring and another in the fall. Anna was able to recruite more VDVRs to join the central email platform vdvr@rice.edu.

New:

  • Amanda Thomas has purchased a toolkit.
  • Hannah Edlund worked with the Cataloging Department to catalog it. 
• Fall 2023
  • Anna Xiong led the Kelley Center staff to test the service, discuss and improve the workflow, as well as create the lending policy.
  • Anna Xiong created the online request form.

Dare to experiment something new:

New: Meagan from the Harris County Election Office brought the real voting machine for a Mock Election experience. It was set up next to our voter registration table.

New: Patrotic Art Craft: Design and assembly your own patriotic buttons.

Anna Xiong received recognition from the Harris County Election Office for her leadership and making significant contribution to voter registration on campus.
