- Social Explorer This link opens in a new windowFind data on religious congregations. Access current and historic census data. Create thematic and interactive maps and charts.
HeritageQuest: Search for head of household (not children). Search Census records for 1790-1940 (Personal census data is not released until 72 years after the census which occurs every 10 years.) NARA facilities provide free access to Heritage Quest. Digitized microform records in black and white as opposed to grayscale used by Ancestry.com which is also available at NARA facilities. Many (though not all) images are clearer in Heritage Quest, but Ancestry.com has more indexes.
