The GeoHumanities focuses on spatial, spatial-temporal and "placial" perspectives in the digital humanities. Use of maps, GIS and spatial thinking combine in numerous humanities disciplines. At Rice, there is a robust Spatial Humanities group at the Humanities Research Center. At the international level, the GeoHumanities Special Interest Group of the Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations provides a venue for study and collaborations.
