ProQuest International Newsstand provides information from more than 660 of the world's top newspapers. For nearly all of them, complete articles are available in the ASCII format. The Bangkok Post, El Norte, Financial Times, The Guardian, Jerusalem Post, Le Monde, South China Morning Post, The Daily Telegraph, Asian Wall Street Journal, and the BBC Monitoring series of publications are just a few of the sources in ProQuest International Newsstand.

Access to The New York Times via the web or mobile device.

Note: Setting up an account for first time users or for renewing your digital subscription. (Click on "more").
1) Go to http://accessnyt.com/.
2) Search for "Rice University"
3) If you are setting up an account for the first time, you must use your Rice email for setup. For best practice choose a unique and secure password.
3a) If you are renewing your digital subscription, be sure to use your same account by clicking on "Already have an account? Log on here >>" and sign in with your existing username/password.
4) Check your email for a confirmation from NY Times and click on the link in the email. If you don't see the email, check your spam filter (i.e. Proofpoint). For help with this step click here.
5) Confirm your account is working by going to NYT.com and clicking on 'Account'. You should see 'Digital Subscriber' listed under your username.
6) If you use the NY Times mobile app, log out and back in.

The library's subscription does not include any of the NYT games, including the NYT Crossword puzzle, but does include Cooking and Wirecutter access.

To set up an account use the link below. After clicking on the link, you will need to verify that you are an authorized Rice User. Following this, set up your account in the Wall Street Journal form. Do not use your NetID password for setting up the Wall Street Journal account. Instead, create a new password. This account is for setting up and managing your website.

Users will need to refresh their account once a year to ensure their affiliation with Rice University by going to https://wsj.com/rice

After filling in the appropriate information, the user will be told they already have an account and to "sign in here." After clicking this link and signing into their account they should have successfully refreshed their access.

For users using an app for the WSJ, after a year they will have to delete the app, reinstall it and then sign in again.

Search for Newspaper Titles (in all formats)

The journal portal also allows you to search for Fondren's newspapers (print, microfilm & digital). Newspaper titles indexed in the multi-newspaper websites (such as Nexis Uni) are included here as well.

Many individual newspapers are available online via their own websites and permit free access to the day's news, and in some cases to the backfiles. If you cannot locate a title via this search box try a simple google search; this will usually suffice to find it.
