Multidisciplinary Article Databases
- Academic Search Complete This link opens in a new windowScholarly and general interest sources in business, medicine, humanities, social sciences, and science and technology, including books, journal and magazine articles, bibliographies, and trade publications.
- Opposing Viewpoints (Gale In Context) This link opens in a new windowGale In Context: Opposing Viewpoints is the premier online resource covering today's hottest social issues, from capital punishment to immigration to marijuana. This cross-curricular resource supports science, social studies, current events, and language arts classes. Informed, differing views help learners develop critical-thinking skills and draw their own conclusions. Opposing Viewpoints is a rich resource for debaters and includes viewpoints, reference articles, infographics, news, images, video, audio, and more. A category on the National Debate Topic provides quick and easy access to content on frequently studied and discussed issues. Periodical content covers current events, news and commentary, economics, environmental issues, political science, and more.
- Scopus This link opens in a new windowIndexes over 15,000 journals, as well as several million web pages and U.S. and international patents. Database includes article citations from 1996, and permits citation tracking, and (both) saving searches and email or RSS alerts of new material. The system will export records into major citation managers and prepare a bibliography according to major formats. (1966- )
- Web of Knowledge This link opens in a new windowWoK is a database platform providing content in the sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities.

Accessing Rice-provided articles in Google Scholar
Be sure and set your Scholar preferences so you can get to Rice-provided articles from off-campus.
- Navigate to scholar.google.com
- Click on the three lines to open the menu
- Navigate to Settings
- Navigate to Library Links
- Search for "Rice University"
- Check the box next to Rice University - ViewIt@Rice
- Add additional libraries if you have access to others, including public libraries
- Done! You will now see Rice's links to articles in Google Scholar
